Tempo football education and football TRANSITION YEAR PROGRAMME
Our full-time Transition Year programme is for dedicated football players. Running Monday to Friday, it features daily coaching, tactical and technical development, and an academic schedule. Sessions are led by UEFA A and B licensed coaches, with support from professionals in strength, conditioning, sports psychology, nutrition, and recovery. Players receive mentoring, media training, and personal development, showcasing the programme's holistic approach.
Participants engage in showcase matches and tournaments to gain exposure to scouts and clubs nationally and internationally. At TFA Elite, we aim to cultivate high-performing young people through elite coaching and personal growth. Our environment prepares players for both the game and life..
TFA is unique as the only academy in Ireland providing a custom educational programme for young footballers.
Our academic structure meets national standards while catering to elite sports demands.
Players benefit from personalized learning support, flexible schedules, and individual guidance to excel in both academics and training.
The Curriculum
At TFA , we believe elite football development and education should complement each other. Our curriculum integrates football, academics, and athletic performance into a seamless model. Each day follows the rhythm of a high-performance lifestyle, allowing players to train, learn, recover, and grow in a balanced environment. This is more than a school for footballers; it is a system that fosters holistic development: technically, intellectually, physically, and emotionally.
Football Curriculum
Our football programme mirrors best practices of top European academies. Training focuses on five technical and tactical terms, with each phase targeting specific developmental outcomes. Sessions are designed for measurable progression, covering technical skills, in-possession play, defensive transitions, and position-specific work. Our goal is to develop technically and tactically excellent players who think critically, adapt quickly, and lead confidently in the game.
Academic Curriculum
TFA Elite stands out with its purpose-built education programme for young athletes in a full-time football environment. While aligned with national standards, our approach is unconventional.
We employ a twin-track model that ensures players don’t have to choose between sports and education. Students study core subjects like English, Maths, Sports Science, and Leaving Cert PE, with lessons focused on context, relevance, and application.
Athletic Development Curriculum
Physical preparation is central to the TFA Elite model. Our athletic development program equips players to enhance strength, speed, mobility, and durability while minimizing injury and overtraining risks. Players begin with initial assessments to set a baseline, followed by regular testing to monitor progress. They then receive gym-based training plans tailored to their body type, growth stage, and position. We use bio-banding to ensure development aligns with physical maturity rather than just age.
